AGM AGENDA

Agenda 27/05/26

  1. Committee

The Committee would like to really thank Kev and Aaron for their help with the league over the years, their help has been invaluable.

Rob Underwood (Westborough Club A) has taken over the role of Treasurer and League 1 Secretary.

  • Current League
    • What did people think about the singles competition?

The feedback was mixed, with the suggestion that the competition needs to be split between divisions 1/2 and 3/4

  • A lot of games were cancelled over the season and especially on the last week, which did have a potential impact on others being able to reach the final 16 teams. What can we do about this?

If all teams are involved until the end rather than taking the top.

  • Future Leagues
    • Summer 26

Starting 24th June so that league is ready and miss the first England Game.

40 teams entering, will include a singles and double competition

  • Winter 26
    • Estimating a start Jan 27 (not really a winter/summer league setup with starting that late, and only getting later

options

  1. Start to move league back over the next few seasons by removing competitions?
    1. Change the leagues to 2 leagues, joining the 1+2 and 3+4. This will then mean 38 games in 52 weeks. We can then have summer off 6 weeks – July/August), 2 weeks for Xmas and we put some other competitions in and then we have 6 weeks for AGM/Competition/Presentation/re-arranged games.
    1. Continue with the league running back-to-back, just not make them Summer/Winter, it’s just the next season

Another suggestion of 3 leagues has been put forward. 3 leagues will potentially give odd numbers as it’s divisible by 3.

There was concerns about having a number of weeks off during the summer with no darts

Putting into two leagues those in division 4 felt they might not be good enough to go against division 3 sides.

The teams who attended want some time to discuss options with their team mates

  • Super league players

There are No rules on number of super league players involved in teams

  • 180s
    • Do away with trophies for 180s, 99 people have 180s, 149 180’s in total, nearly 40% of the league have hit 180s

Agreed to Scrap the 180 trophies

  1. Can still 180s webpage if people still want us to?

Yes, still put on the webpage

  • Financial Statement

After expenses this year there is about £1,800 left in the bank, so £20 subs are continuing until it is below £1000. We can then discuss whether we reduce the trophies or change the subs costs. Trophy costs have gone up 9% this year.

The financial statement is available to see if wanted.

  • Feedback from teams
    • Caller/Ref/Scorer – once called and the game has moved on there is no going back. Any queries are only to be made by the players/scorer and captain, other players are not allowed to get involved.

If you want to split the caller/scorer roles between the teams then this is an option for you to agree with the other captain at the beginning of the night.

  • Player etiquette – apart from scorer – no standing in front or close to the players whilst they are playing. Walking past to be done when not players are not playing/throwing. Noise is expected to be kept to a minimum during throwing.
  • Turning up to AGM/Presentation

Next season the committee will not be chasing teams for money or attendance at the AGM. We expect a representative to turn up to register and pay for the team to enter the league. Whilst the AGM might only take 15 minutes the committee put a lot of time and effort into running the league and expect the teams to make that effort to attend to register their teams. Teams failing to do this will not be entered into the league

  • AOB
    • Food – less pubs are doing food.

This is an option for the pubs/teams, and any teams not doing food please advise the other teams in the league so they know not to expect it.

  • Transfers – what are the rules?

Any transfer requests need to come via the league committee and we take a practical approach to any requests. It is unlikely that a transfer within the same league will be allowed.

  • Playing with less than 6 players

If you have less than 6 players you forfeit that game/throw. For example, if the home team has 5 players:

Singles

You draw the cards as normal adding a 6th dummy player to the list. That game is an immediate point to the away team. If the away team player wants to play a for fun game then that can be arranged.

Doubles

One of the doubles teams is a single player, Each player throws once, it will depend on the order whether the home or away team. Forfeiting a throw each time.

Trebles

One of the trebles teams is 2 players and they forfeiting a throw each time.

Any queries on this please ask your league secretary to explain.
